The Croydon Response
Following on from our story Baited Breath We received the following from an independent Consulting engineer from the Croydon Tramlink project: Good grief so the professional survey showed 34% along NET line 3 will probably use the tram and the amateur fiddled survey could only get this down to 10%. For Croydon a professional survey, taken at a similar point in time in the projects development, showed only 5% and that's for the most successful system in the country!, with 22% modal shift from car journeys. My advice; .... Get on and build it!!!
Baited Breath
BCBRA have just released the results of their heavily biased survey conducted last March. We reported on this survey and gave a full analysis of the questions over 6 months ago. We got hold of the results and did our analysis on June 30 (3 months ago). BCBRA state that they are “………currently in the process of performing more analysis on the data collected and a report about this will be published shortly." I await with baited breath!
