Beeston Civic Society supports the tram

From March newsletter of the Beeston & District Civic Society.
"...The committee have been kept in touch with all developments and proposals by NET and we have responded, after discussions at our meetings, to them. All committee members are agreed that we are for the tram in principle, but we have some reservations about specific points, for example the proposed routes and the noise element. We feel that Beeston should not be left out of the scheme entirely and become a backwater, as it is in danger of becoming if there is no new development."

The tram is good for house prices

March 23rd. Nottingham Evening Post states that property prices have gone up 35% in NG7 - around line 1 and that's before the trams are running!

Page 6 Col 3: 'Paul Whiteman of Manchester estate agents-Vital Space said that the renovated canal area of Salford Quays was buoyed up by that city's tram system. "As soon as the Metro Link started running the house prices soared by about 15%," he said, "It is definitely a positive factor having the tram nearby"'.
